I’m excited to share that today I launched a revamped Small Change section on my blog—my goal with the new pages is to make the “call to action” stronger, easily capture how much money has been raised, and highlight the Small Change beneficiaries better.
WHAT’S SMALL CHANGE?
Small Change is an initiative I started in July 2014 to donate to a nonprofit organization in each of the cities I race—and I’ve been encouraging other runners to do the same. The idea is catching on and many wonderful organizations are benefiting from the goodness of runners and travelers. To date, over $340 has been raised. However, this is only the beginning—let’s keep the contributions coming and the bar on the trailhead sign moving upward! Read my blog post from last December to get a sense of how much money can be raised when we join forces.
I encourage you to explore the new pages—check out the FAQs, click on the map boot icons, read through the Small Change stories, and of course, learn more about the organizations that are making our communities stronger.
To celebrate the launch of the new section, I will donate an additional $10 to every Small Change story submitted starting today through April 2015.
Please help me spread the word about this important initiative—follow Adventures in Thumbholes on Facebook and Twitter to retweet or share my updates. If you have a blog or are a journalist, I’d be honored to share more about the Small Change initiative with your readers. Together, our Small Change can add up to something good for our communities.
What do you think of the new Small Change section? What races or adventures do you have coming up?
