When I launched Small Change in July 2014, one of my goals was to highlight and give recognition to the Beneficiaries through my blog and social media channels. However, when I look back on my many posts, it became clear I fell a little short in this area. I knew I could do better—I wanted to do better.
I’m excited to share I’m launching a new blog series designed to bring more awareness to the organizations you donate to as part of the Small Change initiative. The blog posts will go beyond summarizing the organizations’ websites; I’ll be reaching out directly to them to learn more about their mission and how they serve their communities, their needs and challenges, and how community members can get involved.
So now every time you donate to an organization as part of running a race or an adventure, your Small Change story will continue to benefit the organization, bringing them additional recognition, engagement, and the opportunity for more donations.
To date, nearly 30 organizations have benefited from Small Change and combined have received a total of over $3,800. I’m extremely proud of what has been raised and am grateful to those who have embraced the initiative. Through you, I’ve learned about organizations that are changing lives, empowering our neighbors, and making our communities stronger.
Nonprofits are the champions of our communities—often the unsung heroes that work tirelessly to keep our communities thriving and healthy, while providing many important services—and I’m honored to bring more awareness to them.
What organization will be featured first? Stay tuned to find out!
